Dates for next LAALO Programme

WRAP has been heavily involved in a project centred on Bishopton School, the aim of which is to make the school and its community more “dementia friendly”.

bishoptonThe children were asked to “Grow your own family tree” and to involve other family members. The community would through the process become more aware of Café WRAP, held in the Community Centre, every Friday.

An exhibition of the childrens’ results was held in the school on 3rd February; parents and grandparents were invited and the pupils received a certificate and a WRAP pen each, presented by Rosemary Shakesheff.

During the event the children listened to a story read by Linda Cousins and written by Lee Story called the “Buttercup Game” This is a children‘s book that tells the story of a young rabbit supporting a grandparent that is living with dementia.

The school reported the event in its newsletter to parents:

“We Are Family”

We would like to say a huge thank you to the members of the WRAP for organising this and to congratulate the children for producing some excellent projects.

Should you wish to find out about your family history, you can find out more information and pick up a leaflet about the free service in the school.” Mr Hunt Head Teacher
