Our next Looking After A Loved One Living with Dementia Support Programme (LAALO ) starts on Thursday, September 12th.
LAALO is a FREE, informal, people-friendly information and support programme for people looking after a loved one who is in the early stages of the dementia journey, regardless of the type diagnosed.
The LAALO programme is held at Briar Croft, Alcester Road, Stratford and its purpose is to give you the information and support you need. We have guest speakers who cover all the questions you may have and also help you with your well-being so that you are better prepared for the journey ahead supporting your loved one.
During the programme you will:
- learn about the different types of dementia
- receive help with finance and legal issues
- find out how reminiscence promotes wellbeing for your loved one
- discover techniques for coping with stress
- meet with social services representatives and others
The programme runs for two hours, one day a week, for six weeks – all we ask is that you make a commitment to attend as many sessions as you can. Each week the programme begins at 10am and finishes at 12 noon. We supply coffee, tea, water and biscuits throughout the programme. You will receive a folder to keep your note book and your information sheets in that you receive from the guest speakers.
