WRAP is to work closely with schools and voluntary groups to encourage new inter-generational activities, introducing projects such as ‘Reminiscence and Rhyme’, ‘Research your Family Tree’ and encouraging new ways of recording village history.
Training community workers in reminiscence skills can enable individuals to have the confidence to set up new groups that use their life experiences as the base to start from and explore future interaction with the community at large.
Working with Reminiscence Boxes in schools, we aim to bring children and older people together.
One off workshops will also link with the Alzheimer’s cafe based in Leamington Spa to encourage work on dementia and well-being for carers and sufferers.
WRAP intends to work closely with community organisations of all types, the Library service, and other departments of Warwickshire County Council.
