WRAP AGM Reports June 2021 – Chair Report

Warwickshire Reminiscence Action Project
Chairs Report
Year Ending April 2021

Welcome everyone to the WRAP Annual General Meeting. The past year has been dominated by Covid restrictions. In March 2020 were forced to close our offices, our Day Care provision, cafes and all other programmes.

The previous year had been a very successful one for WRAP. Our Day care, cafes and LAAALO programmes were full and we were all looking forward to continuing the work. Suddenly everything stopped and we were unable to access our office in Foundation House.

Mike kept in touch with all our wrappers during the lock down, by phone. He rang everyone each week to find out how they were managing. Some volunteers also helped by delivering hot food and flowers and medicines.

In the summer of 2020 there was a short lifting of the restrictions and we organised an outdoor event at the Stratford Mini golf course. This was enjoyed by all who attended and it was a reminder of pre-Covid cafes.

During the year we employed two new members of staff:
Jane Marsh who is re-vamping the Trigger boxes into smaller boxes which are user friendly.
Janice Crompton-Brough joined us as the Resource Centre Coordinator. We appreciated her hard work especially as in the beginning of the year Janice was working from home.

Frank and Mike have done an amazing job keeping the office ticking over with a combination of home working and ZOOM meetings and the odd chance of Foundation House.

We have cautiously opened up the cafe’s and the programmes again as allowed and hope that we can return to our Pre Covid services as soon as possible.
