As we all watched Boris the Priminister unfold his road map, we realised we will have to wait a little longer before we can re-open our Cafe WRAP in Bishopton community centre.
It was on the 5th of April 2016 when we first opened the cafe. How we have missed it. A year will have past in March 2021
We had to close the cafe in 2020.
WRAP continues to support our community despite the current circumstances. We are looking forward to re-opening our wonderful well-praised Day Care Service, our supportive Cafe WRAP and the new Bishopton Garden project, So watch this space for a date.
We are also working to reopen our (LAALO) course! for those who have just been diagnosed, living with dementia.
In the meantime, we are expanding our offerings in the Resource Centre, and we welcome Janice Crompton-Brough as our new Resource Centre Co-ordinator, who will be supporting Mike and the team.
Condolences The WRAP team send our condolences to Ruth Jeacock whose husband Gordon passed away. Gordon’s funeral was (Monday) and Ruth and her family are in our thoughts.
Mike is busily working from home and pleased to report Wendy is recovering well from her triple heart bypass. Thank you to everyone who has sent cards, flowers and well wishes, it is much appreciated.
Telephone Support Mike continues to offer telephone support to all in the community, carers and loved ones. We understand that some days are good and some are not. We are here for a chat, and to help where we can.
Volunteer of the year:- Although it has been a difficult year it was easy to award the”Volunteer of the year” award to Gill Peregrine . Who during the lock down cooked and delivered dinners and visited those on their own giving them support. So well done Gill.
Register for LAALO Mike is also updating the LAALO course and invites anyone who is interested to call him on 07803 729894, and he will get back to you. Places on the programme are limited and in high demand, so please register your interest as early as you can, and we will contact you. LAALO is a FREE, informal, people-friendly information and support programme for people looking after a loved one who is in the early stages of the dementia journey, regardless of the type diagnosed.
During the programme you will:
- learn about the different types of dementia
